I remain firmly convinced that Exile in Guyville is one of the great albums ever.  Whip-Smart, whitechocolatespaceegg, and the numerous unreleased tracks floating around online have their charms, too.

Dabysan

Not lumping you among the panting fanboys was an oversight for which I apologize. I'm not sure I'm ready to go tossing around "great albums ever" accolades, but then I used to think it was drivel, so what do I know. It is really fucking good.

Jodi

So is this part 1 in a 921,836, 281 part series?

hotrod

I like Liz Phair because she is a) not bad looking and b) has a mouth n her like a sailor.

Curlysalamander

I like this feature.  Reconsideration of former certainties is one of life's greatest pleasures,  I find.

Jason

Plus, don't forget everything she has done for us (and by "us" I mean men of a certain generation) by using her music to tell women that casual sex is just fine and nothing to feel cheap about so go ahead and indulge.  At least I think that's what "Fuck and Run" is about...

god men are stupid

seriously. fuck and run is not a slutty anthem. there's a telling line there

CarrieNation

I have always thought the same thing. It is a really sad song.

Dabysan

I can admit the times that I've been wrong...both of them.

Jodi

Whatever happened to a boyfriend, the kind of guy who tries to win you over. And whatever happened to a boyfriend the kind of guy who makes love because he's in it, is not a paean to the joys of casual sex.

What Liz did was tell us that it's confusing and it's okay to be confused and still enjoy it.

CarrieNation

Not the line I was thinking of, but yeah.

Jason

Apparently the Vox Sarcasm/Irony filters are all on today.

FS

I look forward to the post where Dabysan admits his favorite all-time song is "Electric Blue" by Icehouse.
